The information in the TaxoDros database is generated using unique short forms for taxa. Some taxon names are homonyms or synonyms and can only be distinguished by this unique short form. An example is Drosophila melanogaster Meigen and Drosophila melanogaster Macquart. They differ only in the unique short forms "melanogaster 1" and "melanogaster 2". If you just search for melanogaster you will find nothing. You should use these unique short forms to search the TaxoDros Global Regions
